“As a guy who loves women and trans women this is something I do regularly and the last thing I want to do is risk mine or someone else’s health. I know playing with a TS can be a little more risky so I always play safe even with oral sex. A good place to go and get checked for all the men out there, who play as I do, is the MClinic in west Perth. It’s very discrete everyone is nice and non judgmental and if you don’t get a message in 7 days you are all good. Nice and easy to get done every 3 or 4 months! ”

“Such an amazing post! For most people the health check in the most uncomfortable situation, especially when something has been detected. I for example always get a 2nd opinion to reassure myself that even an ingrown hair or a spot is nothing for me to worry about. And for the guys that ask for natural, I start with a lecture that if they ever come across someone offering natural, they should probably run...fast and far. Most STI's can't be detected after 2 weeks of getting infected so even of there has been a screening done recently it only covers what has been caught way before the test got done. Technically someone could have caught an STI a day before the screening but it couldn't be detected as it's to fresh.”

“This is a great post! Sexual health checks are often very intimidating from a male clients perspective (understandably so), however, they are so important! I hope clients read this and understand it from a workers perspective. We are not judging you on what your penis looks like, we are just ensuring our safety!”

“Barbie, this is such a helpful guide! I love how straightforward and real you are about everything, especially the importance of staying on top of sexual health. Your breakdown makes it easy to understand, which will be very helpful for newbies in the industry (and experienced workers alike). Thanks for putting this together and reminding everyone how important it is to stay safe and healthy. Without our health, what do we have? - You're amazing for putting this together!”

“Well done Barbie! Sexual health is an essential part of overall well-being, and maintaining it requires attention to both physical and emotional aspects. Here are some key points to consider for good sexual health: Open Communication: Effective communication with your partner about desires, boundaries, and consent is crucial for healthy sexual experiences. Consent: Always ensure that any sexual activity is consensual. This involves clear, enthusiastic, and ongoing consent from all involved parties. Regular STI Testing: Regular screenings for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are important, especially if you have multiple partners or engage in unprotected sex. Safe Sex Practices: Using condoms or other forms of protection helps reduce the risk of STIs and unintended pregnancies. Emotional Well-being: A healthy sexual life is often linked to good mental health. Addressing stress, anxiety, and emotional concerns can improve sexual satisfaction. Regular Physical Check-ups: Routine visits to your healthcare provider can help prevent and detect issues related to sexual health, such as erectile dysfunction, hormonal imbalances, or reproductive health problems. Understanding Your Body: Educate yourself about your own body, sexual response, and preferences. This can enhance self-confidence and sexual satisfaction. Balanced Lifestyle: Healthy habits like regular exercise, balanced nutrition, and sufficient sleep all contribute to better sexual health and energy levels. Body Positivity: Embrace your body and its changes. A positive body image can improve confidence and sexual satisfaction. Managing Sexual Dysfunction: If you're experiencing issues such as erectile dysfunction, low libido, or pain during sex, seek professional help. Many treatments are available. Respecting Boundaries: Ensure both you and your partner’s boundaries are respected. Healthy sexual relationships are based on mutual respect and understanding. Avoiding Substance Abuse: Excessive use of alcohol or drugs can impair sexual function and decision-making, leading to unhealthy sexual experiences. By keeping these points in mind, you can support both your physical and emotional well-being in your sexual health journey.”
