“"Langtrees" ......HAPPY HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY for the 16th February 1994 ""LANGTREES" - turned 31 years old last week. ”
“Great story and have to ask how long did it take to move the paintings across Charlis Shop days , weeks ,month's? ”

“wow…what a awesome read! So interesting anddd iconic to hear the story of how Langtrees was named and the making of the business. Mary-Anne, your work ethic is so inspiring!! ”
“Ah!! What a great read. It is impressive to know the insight of a well-known establishment. How Mary-Anne kept hiding this image from her grandfather's eyes and how Mary-Anne thought of this business. And most of all, how can she think by seeing this image and thinking of a company like this at such an early age? It is incredible to know how the name was misspelled and how it turned into a luxury premium brothel in Western Australia.”
“Thank you for an awesome read of a great story. I have heard bits and pieces of it and always thought the change from Langtry to Langtrees was done on purpose.......in a genius move to connect past and presence. Guess, that's called "overthinking" it. ”
“This was an incredible read! So cool to learn the history of this place. Will have to look further into Lillie Langtry now, she seems like a very interesting lady xx ”

“Very interesting to know the backstory about how Langtrees got its name. I've spent many hours under the watchful eye of Lilly Langtry's portrait without having a clue who she was! ”
“What an absolutely captivating read, AmandaO! I was completely drawn in by the fascinating history behind the Langtrees name :) especially the unexpected mix of family antics, late-night inspiration and a touch of historical intrigue. The connection to Lillie Langtry adds such a rich layer to the legacy of Langtrees and I found myself eager to learn even more about how this iconic bordello came to be. The story of Mary-Anne’s determination and business acumen is nothing short of inspiring!! A truly intriguing glimpse into a world where beauty, power and resilience intertwine! :) Thank you again for the post. ”
“What a fantastic read! Love how this story is filled with bold moves, quick thinking, and a bit of cheeky luck. The mix of history, business savvy, and pure determination makes Langtrees’ origin story just as legendary as Lillie Langtry herself. Can’t wait to hear more stories from Mrs. Langtrees—sounds like there’s plenty more to tell!”
“Such a great read! Love how a stolen portrait, a late-night epiphany, and a little dyslexia all came together to create something iconic. Mary-Anne’s story is just as bold as Lillie Langtry’s—full of guts, wit, and doing things her own way. Pretty sure Lillie would be raising a glass and having a laugh at it all. Can’t wait for Mrs. Langtrees’ first edition!”
“What a great read this was i only knew bits of it and finally got it all xxx”
“Love reading how you came up with the name Mary-Anne and the spelling mistake. I wondered what inspired the name when I first saw it in Kalgoorlie”
“Interesting read ??”
“Well that was interesting Good to know MK So good to know your spelling has improved Langtrys But Langtrees is you”
“What a wonderful read..... I knew part of the story; Now I know the full story. I remember my granddads's shed it was filled to the brim, but you could never take anything out of it...”
“Great Read thanx AmandaO. Brings back so many memories. REGARDING this paragraph......... Now, Charlie was a man who hated parting with his possessions. If you so much as mentioned liking something, he’d stash it away so fast you’d never see it again. Mary-Anne’s mother, Gay, knew this well and passed down a sneaky little trick—if you wanted something, you had to gradually move it until Charlie forgot it existed................. I remember Grandad exactly like this. Whenever we visited his place, he would keep his eyes on us, like a Hawk. "Don't touch that, you will break it" he'd say. "What are you doing with that? Put it down". He was such a grumpy old bastard. ”
